What is "Tough carbon film" ?

●Is this film made from ?

This film is made from only carbon, that is supplied using fullerene (C60).
Additionally, hydrogen is not included in the film at all.

●What is the structure ?

This film has amorphous structure, therefore quite flat surface is
obtained.

●What is the difference from DLC films ?

This film has surperior properties compared with DLC films, as shown below.

Ultra high hardness (Hv5000kg/mm2)

This hardness is the next hardest to diamond, and 2~3 times higher than prior films.

High thermal stability (500 ºC in the oxigen-free atmosphere)

This temperature of thermal stability is twice than that of prior films. In the case of
air atmosphere, the temperatue is 400 ºC. The film is disappeared above 400 ºC, because of oxidation

Keeping the dimension

The parts dimension is kept after this treatment, bacause the film thickness is quite low (< 0.5 micron), and low process temperature (<100 ºC).
